Kit's Chicken Keeping Set

My sister and I turned in our completed American Girl Wishlists to my mom a week or two ago. She ordered the stuff and it has started coming in. It is so tempting and exciting! My mother let me see my sister's new doll, Grace, and I got a peek of Mary Ellen! They're gorgeous. I can't wait until Christmas.
I think next year I'm going to try to order one doll thing a month. Something about getting new doll stuff is just crazy exciting, even if it is one thing. I think it'll help keep me excited about doll's and happy in general. I don't want to throw a pity party, but I get sad sometimes. Dolls take away that sadness.
My mom treated me to one of my Christmas American Girl items. She gave me Kit's Chicken Keeping Set! It wasn't even on my list which was a great surprise! My sister got Rebecca's Seashore Set. It's just as cute. It retails for $48 from AG which is steep for an outfit, but she say's she got them on sale!

I noticed the skirt from one of her outfits which name I can't remember at the moment matched the top perfectly, so I paired them together. The outfit reminded me of District 12 attire from The Hunger Games.
(I did actually go see Mockingjay Part 2 Thursday night, and it was fantastic!)
Since the outfits reminded me of HG, I decided to dress another doll in similar style and take pictures of them together!
Here are the pictures!

Review of the outfit: I think that the headband could've been a bow because the headband looks a little awkward with Kit's short hair, but with a little tweaking, it's okay. Her meet clip looks much better with it. The overalls could stand to be a little more snug as I found they sagged a little bit. But that might be the purpose! The chicken is very cute as well! Not much play value in my opinion since it's pretty random, but it is still fitting. Maybe it can be Kit's pet chicken she keeps in the house lol!

Kanani's Doll Hospital Visit

The past two years I have found myself very bothered my Kanani's hair. In the beginning, her hair was beautiful, soft, and shiny. In recent times, it lost its softness, shine, and curls. This was due to my not up to par hair management skills. Kanani belongs to my sister, by the way.
My sister wasn't too fond of the idea of getting Kanani fixed. She liked that we had a doll whose hair was okay to experiment with. I understood where she was coming from, but it absolutely bothered me.
After making a compromise with her that if we switched backpacks she'd let me send her, Kanani was off to the hospital.
She wasn't gone long at all to my surprise! She was gone less than two weeks! Maybe even a week. I'm not for sure when my dad actually got her to the post office.
She got a new head ($40) and her ears pierced ($17). The grand subtotal with shipping was a $70-$80. I'd have to look at the receipt to be exact.
So here are some pictures of our little princess!
Before... Look how bad her hair had gotten! It had been in a bun however.

After... She looks flawless!

I'm so thrilled to have our beautiful Kanani back! Her shiny, soft curls have been deeply missed. She has her ears pierced too which is a unique touch! Now she's ready to be primped up for the holidays!

Fall 2015 News

This is an update post on Glamourousdollies. I doubt that I have viewers anymore as I have been absent in the doll world for a long time. I never promise that I will return full time, but I am going to try.
Fall 2015 News
Long time ... no see.
A lot changed in my life in 2014. I just finished updating my list of dolls here on the blog and it gave me an idea of the timeline of my doll career. School year 2014-2015 was very rough on me. I went through a lot of tough things and lost people. I developed a lot as a person and I have learned from my mistakes. Maryellen's release got me into checking up on the doll world. I logged back into my Instagram (@glamorousdollies | follow me!) and began to miss all of the good times my dolls brought and taught me. My dolls taught me and still do so much about photography and stop motion animation and iMovie and Adobe Photoshop. It tested my creative veins, encouraging me to write out stories and come up with new ideas. It is a learning process that I have to continue to participate in.
After hearing that Basilementos' YouTube actually got her a college scholarship and Adsense is helping to pay for college, it made me see that it actually isn't for nothing. You can truly benefit so much from dolls.
I hope to come back and rebuild my channel ... this time bigger and better.

Long time ... no DOLL!
Looking at my timeline, I realized I hadn't gotten a doll since 2013! Two years! That is the longest I have ever gone! I decided to shop around on eBay and see how things were selling on there. And then I saw a deal I couldn't miss out on ...
I bought McKenna! For some big bucks too. She was $210 plus shipping. But she is oh so worth it. I'll upload some photos soon.
I am so head over heels for her hair! Having no part is so fun and convenient. I hope they make more dolls without a part in the future.
I debated on getting McKenna all throughout 2012 but ultimately chose three other dolls that year which have retired as well now. That is a better way to look at it than that I missed the opportunity. If anyone has anything of her collection they'd like to sell, let me know.

Plans for the Future
I have been making plans about the future of Glamourousdollies and my doll collection here recently. I plan on asking for Maryellen come Christmas time. I will also probably rename her because Ellen reminds me of Ellen Degeneres and I just don't want that for a doll name, lol. I will try to find a pretty name that starts with an M to coordinate with her meet sweater.
I am hoping to restart my YouTube career seriously this time around. I would like to shoot for maybe getting a partnership and getting into Adsense. After hearing that Basilmentos' videos got her a scholarship, it is evidence that this isn't for nothing. I learned a lot about technology, stop motion animation, photography, creativity, iMovie, Photoshop, and much more. It is a process that never stops teaching you things and I just can't let my laziness get to me anymore.

Upcoming Videos
I just finished filming a mega tour of our mega doll room. I haven't taken pictures or videos of it since we moved into it so it was very overdue. It will be edited and uploaded soon. I will probably make a fun tab of it here on the blog as well. :)

As always, thanks for reading. Remember me because I'll be around. :)
